Black Isle Horticultural Society Summer show 2021

14 August 2021

Starts: 14:00
Ends: 16:00

Saturday 14 August 2.00  Food and Craft Hall, Black Isle Showground,  Muir of Ord

BIHS Secretary Graham Sullivan writes

We’ve finalised the arrangements for holding our Summer Show this year in a Covid-secure manner, and look forward to seeing people and the exhibits on Saturday 14th August. There are changes – a different venue from usual (thanks to the Black Isle Farmers’ Society - see below), extended opening times, and no Food or Preserves sections or Cream Teas, but there are still lots of classes to enter, including our new Botanical Illustration class. We're sure our exhibitors will rise to the challenge of making the Show as colourful, interesting and impressive as it always is.

The revised Schedule, listing all the classes and giving all the arrangements for the Show, is here, and available to download from our website

If you want to exhibit bring your entries along to the hall between 5.00 and 8.00 on Friday evening or 8.30 and 10.30 on Saturday.

We’ll be holding the Show in the Food and Craft Hall at the Black Isle Showground at Muir of Ord, a significantly larger venue that allows more than adequate social distancing, easy management of one-way systems, and lots of ventilation via large doors that will be left open. We’ll also spread the exhibits out and extend the opening times.

Secretary, Black Isle Horticultural Society

Muir of Ord Climate Action Day

14 August 2021

Starts: 10:30
Ends: 12:30

Saturday 14 August   10.30 - 12.30

MOO Food have emailed

We just wanted to let you know that we are hosting a CLIMATE ACTION DAY in the Muir of Ord Orchard/Park (opposite Tarradale Primary School car park on Great North Road) on Saturday 14th August 10.30 - 12.30.

As Scotland approaches hosting COP26 later this year, we wanted to remind people what positive actions we can all take to help combat climate change.

We are hosting a fun drop in session showcasing a range of ways people can take action.  It should be a great morning as we have several different people and groups joining in including VELOCITY, HOME ENERGY SCOTLAND, SEPA, BLYTHSWOOD & THE SWAP SHOP. MOO FOOD will be there with Zerowaste Kitchen and composting info and we will also have some tasty local food to try as well as some natural craft activities, carbon trail and make a pledge.

Pop by at any time between those 2 hours to see what's going, hope to see you there and please just get in touch if you'd like any more information.
